Hey guys, i've always bought from the Verizon store and I want to be able to pre-order the T-Bolt at BB. I have an early upgrade so will they still honor it with the $20 fee? Any repercussions i might face? Thanks

early upgrade? I think BB can only do it if you are 20 months on a 2-yr contract and you don't get the NE2 money.

I talked to a VZ rep over the phone and i was eligible for an early upgrade. I bought my last phone in November '09 so i think it puts me about 14 months into my plan. Because i'm still on a NE2 plan i can still parlay it one more time. Just want to make sure its the same at Best Buy.

I tried to get my Droid on an early upgrade in Nov of 09 ( upgrade at 12 months on a 24 month contract for primary line) and they wouldn't do it. They said they would but when I showed up at the store they refused. I'm pretty sure they are only equipped to do 2 year contracts for new customers and customers at the end of a 2 year contract. If someone knows otherwise please post because I would like to pre-order a TBolt if possible.

*sigh* I really want to get it on launch day. I hope the VZ store will have it the same day as BB.

i have a NE2 and could have upgraded a few months ago - was waiting on tbolt.

does any1 know if i can use the $100 off (im main line) for a 1year plan?
(i've never done a 1 year plan).

that wouldnt be bad if a 1 year plan costs ~ $320 - $100 = $220

any1 know?

I have NE2, $100 as well. I like to know this as well.

Anyone?

Can someone explain the NE2 deal? I understand that when buying a phone with a 1 or 2 year contract the phone is subsidized, but how does the NE2 deal work?

example-
I see the online price for a phone is $200 with a new 2 year contract. Say I'm a current VZW customer on month to month contract and want to buy that phone and sign a 2 year contract. What do I pay?

In your example you would pay $200. The NE2 deal is no longer except for those that are currently in a 2 year NE2 contract. It worked like this, if you were the primary line on a 2 year contract ($69.99 minimum ??) you were elligible to upgrade your phone at 12 months for the same price as a new customer (or new contract). Your contract would then be extended another 24 months from that point.

They are wrong. NE2 can only be used for a 2 year contract, hence the NE2

Best Buy cannot give you your NE2 credit, only a verizon corporate store can.

you could be correct. we kind of slided off topic a bit and made the concern less weigh in on bestbuy.

i had to call vzw to ask about something on my fam plan and so i asked if the tbolt could use the $100 off a 1 year plan.. they said yes.

but true, about the issue with bestbuy, you could def be right sir. I personally am not sure, as i asked vzw about getting it from vzw.

Any BB employees know how to calculate the discount we get on the phone? I'm trying to see how much I would have to pay.

Upgrade?

I tried this when my contract was up. Through VW, I was able to upgrade my phone/plan when i was 2 months away from renewal. Yet, BB and other retailers like amazon check your eligability via the VW website. So if your contract indeed shows 1, 2 months before you can upgrade (regardless of what VW will allow you to actually do) all retailers will only go by the VW site. I was rejected from upgrading from BB, Amazon, & Wirefly due to all saying the VW site states I am not eligable yet. I'm glad I didn't because soon after I read about the TB coming out. So, I've held onto my ****ty Blackberry curve all this time for this month to come. Lets go already VW.

Haha I know, i have a Blackberry Tour and its just so bland. I've always been a big pre-order guy all the way down to video games.

Hopefully all us Android folks get our T-Bolts and everyone else falls victim to the iPhone lol. Personally other than the Evo and the iPhone, i've never seen a cellphone become completely unavailable or out of stock in my area. Hopefully my VZ store will have plenty of them on hand or even a possible pre-order option.
