Can I tether my GS3

Well, you can certainly tether. If nothing else, you can pay your carrier for their tethering service.

But since you're asking about an app, I'll assume you don't want to do that. What carrier are you on, and what version of Android does your phone have?

Can I tether my GS3. I'm not rooted but can. I will buy an app if needed.

thank you

Yes you can. You will need to be rooted and then download the app from this link. Make sure you read the other posts at that link as you do have to do a minor configuration change.

Hello I'm on Sprint. How do I determine what version of Android I'm on?

OK, you're on Jelly Bean. Without rooting, there is no way to use WiFi for tethering. Sprint "fixed" that loophole. Rooting this phone is easy if you're careful about following instructions. If you want to do that, read the first post in this thread: http://forums.androidcentral.com/sp...e-updated-how-root-your-sprint-galaxy-s3.html . Then read it again. Then read the whole thread. If you have any questions, ask before you start rooting.

If you don't want to root, there are a number of apps in the Play Store that provide USB tethering. I don't know if anyone has tried them with this phone on JB or not, but there are plenty of free ones, so give it a try and let us know.

Would anyone know the name of one of the app in the playstore for USB tethering?
I'm on mac the guide you posted looks like it's for a pc. However, I'd like to try the least evasive way to tether, if that fails then root it is :)
