Can I update my Galaxy to 2.2 if I have rooted it?

Hi, I have a Galaxy & its on 2.1 the new update is available but I can't get it? I rooted my phone using z4 root last week, would this have anything to do with it? I have tried connecting it to kies & it says update available but it won't allow it.
What am I doing wrong? All help greatly appreciated .

Not exactly sure if it is the same on the Galaxy phones but when there was an update for my D2 which is rooted I was able to update with no problems. Maybe try unrooting your phone then try the update. I would also suggest asking thus question in Galaxy board
