Can I use a 256 GB micro sd card on a phone?

I don't have the latest phone nor do I have an old so I was just wondering if I could use an sd card with that much storage with my phone. Currently, the phone I own is a Samsung A50 with 128 GB.

But keep in mind that counterfeit cards are common, especially if you bought the card from some random online seller. A counterfeit card claims to be much larger in storage capacity than it really is. Where did you get yours?
