Can I use an LG charger to charge my Samsung Galaxy 8? Or will it not fit or charge?

So I left my charger at home but my friend brought hers. I wondered if you can charge an galaxy s8 with an LG phone charger.

It will fit. It will charge. It may not charge as quickly as you';re used to. (The S8 has Qualcom Quick Charge 2.0, the LG charger may not have any form of quick or rapid charging - but that's fine. You can charge a battery too fast, you can't charge it too slow. As long as it charges, it's "fast enough" to eventually reach 80% [which is the highest you should charge it to - 30% is the lowest you should let it drop to - outside those limits kills the battery faster].)

the brand of the charger doesn't matter. what matters is the type of charger it is. The Galaxy S8 uses USB 3.0. The tip of the charger that goes into the phone is a rectangle.

Some older phones use what is called USB 2.0. The charger tip is a different shape (it is closer to a trapezoid, not a rectangle), so it won't physically fit into your port (don't try to force it in).

You should be able to tell from looking at the tip of the charger whether it's USB 2.0 or USB 3.0
