Can I wait until April?

I am very intrigued by Pixel (XL?) and I am on Verizon. I have an old plan that still allows me to buy discounted phones every 2 years but it doesn't roll around until next April. I have a Motorola Droid Turbo (Original) that is still stuck on Android 5.1. Should I wait to get this on a discount or buy it from Google directly with their financing? I'm so torn on this and I truly feel like I can't trust VZW and their update cycle. Just curious about anyone's opinion.

I think waiting is definitely possible. I definitely wouldn't like the idea of paying for two devices at the same time and only using one of them.

I think Verizon will give you a few dollars for your Trade in of the Droid. Call a representative and do it over the phone. You will get it much quicker than Google. They will give you a box to return the Droid. Probably get more for it from Verizon than putting it on ebay or swappa.

No harm in waiting, you may be able to catch it on sale by then, and you'll also have an idea what Samsung and HTC are doing with their flagships.

This is also one of the main reasons why I would wait... Never harm in seeing what the competitors are doing.

If you can wait I too would suggest waiting. As already mentioned, it gives you time to see what discounts are offered at a later date and the devices being released by other companies. It'll also let you read up on what the community is saying about the device to help you with the decision making.

Not to mention being a crash-test dummy is no fun when Murphy's Law kicks in. Bombgate comes to mind recently...........

That too :). But yea, waiting for hurt - let us know what you decide on doing if you wait for get the itch and grab it sooner.

I guess it's best to wait for it. Some other new phones might be launched by then. Specs wise they might be same but not to worry with pixel as it will get fastest OS updates.

I have the Turbo and VZ gave me $200 off upgrading to the Pixel..so I would stick it out

Thanks for the input everyone, this is why I love the AC community! I think I will wait and actually see what the user experiences end up being and what rumored devices will be out when I can get a discounted upgrade or maybe a holiday sale if I just pull the trigger early.

i think it really depends on how confortable you are in the moment and how much you are in need of a new phone or particularly the Google Pixel
