Can input new Gallery Folder name but cannot see it once created

Have my original Note 5 phone and SOMETIME since last year have been unable to create new Photo Albums within the Gallery App.
Latest Gallery version is installed (v 5.4.03.2).

Today I created within X-plore File Manager App (v 4.00.00) a File folder under the "Pictures" Folder and see it in there using the X-plore File Manager App.

When I open the Gallery up it, is not there?

I did a phone backup to PC using Samsung's SmartSwitch and really want to figure out why I can't create new folders rather than do a factory reset?

Anyone with advice?

If there are no pictures in the folder, the folder itself won't show in Gallery. Gallery only shows pictures (with the name of the folder they're in), not folders.

When I select from three button drop down menu, one option is "Create Album". I select that, name it, select "Ok", the whole screen then slides left and shows all the albums, but not the newly named one?

It seems you misunderstand how gallery and album works. If there's no picture in it, it won't show up in the gallery because it's empty. There's nothing else to it. Creating a folder in the Pictures folder doesn't mean you created a new album. You just created a new folder in the pictures folder.
If you want that folder to show up in Gallery, then you need to put pictures in it. There are two ways to create a working album on your phone. Use a file explorer to create a folder, like you did, then put pictures inside it using the file explorer's cut and paste feature. Or open the gallery, select create album, then select the pictures you want in that album.

@chanchan05, I got it! Thank you! I must've had a brain freeze in trying to create albums bc I did have 23 albums already... I just wasn't able to remember how id done it apparently. I got everything organized now. Thanks!!
