Can Nexus 4 play MP4 files?

I download a free movie from the flixster app onto my Nexus 4 and went to Play Movie... app to watch the video, but it keeps saying "Can't play this video".

Any fix to this problem?

Probably the native movie player has issues with the codec - although it does create mp4 by default.

Install a better video app - try moboplayer https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.clov4r.android.nil&hl=en

Other options are MX Player, DICE Player, BS Player, and probably about 10 others.

mx player plays almost everthing even the mp4. i have played some videos
