Can no longer place orders for Moto G?

I was trying to help my mother in-law order on the Moto maker site and if we selected either the 16/2gb or the 8/1gb, a warning came up stating that this item is back ordered and orders cannot be placed. We tried all different color combos. Can this be true already?

I just tried a 2GB/16GB order, and it allowed me to set one up, but the estimated delivery date was October 5th.

Screw that. Motorola really dropped the ball with this release.

Which is fairly baffling considering the predecessors were two of the best selling Android phones of all time.
