AC Question

Since the last update a few weeks ago, i have had really strange issues with my phone, and for some reason, i can no longer update the phone through Samsung Switch on my pc, when updating it states their needs to be at least 800 mb free for the update to work...

But i have over 19 gig free on my phone, and 32 gig free on my pc!! So what is causing this issue? I also cannot update the phone anymore through the actual phone because it states i have altered my system in a way its not allowed? But the only thing i have done is using a program that restored deleted photo's from my device, I never unrooted the device!

Also since i used that program, (i believe it was Android Data Recovery and all it asked was to enable developer mode and enable USB debugging) my phone is behaving slow sometimes, i tried restoring to a older backup but this did not do anything at all. I think its slow because of the Nougat update that is giving more people issues.

But how can i get rid of the device stating i altered the system in a way its not allowed so i can actually update the device or get rid of the false message that Smart Switch states i have not enough space on my device?

Welcome to the forum. I'd say the app you used to restore deleted files (not a normal android capability) altered the internal storage of your phone, exactly as the error message notes. With the issues you're seeing, I think you need to try a factory reset, but not sure even that will help. I would have to disagree that Nougat is slowing down your phone.

Depending on your phone, you can also try using Odin, to flash your OEM software.

Ok, OP here again, thought i was logged in for some reason, but i already tried a factory reset but that didn't help. And i checked into Odin, and it looked to technical for me as i might screw it up.

Welcome as a new user! If the factory reset didn't help then I think you have a corrupted system. If you're not up to using the Odin route (can't blame you there) I would suggest you take the phone to a good repair shop and see if they can reflash a good OS for you. Sorry we didn't have a magic bullet for you. Post back and let us know how it goes.

And btw, i managed to find out what was slowing down my system, my Avast Antivirus was for some reason causing this since the last update! I removed it and installed Kaspersky and the phone works perfectly again! But i will try that tutorial i posted.

my Avast Antivirus was for some reason causing this

Good show! I've had mixed results from cellphone anti-virus and so don't bother anymore. Avast is supposed to be good, as is Lookout, but updates do sometimes go awry. Be sure to leave a comment in the Play store as most vendors do pay attention there. Good luck with the tutorial and post back how it went.

Hi everybody. I needed to stop my silent reader mode at this round. I've been dealing with the same problem with Necramonium. My S7 reset itself thanks to my company email security protocol! I tried to save my lost photos with dr fone app which download something to my phone during scanning and i started having security notice 'Unauthorized actions have been detected. Restart your phone to undo any unauthorized changes.'. First i thought app rooted the phone but when i checked the knox counter, it's still 0 and device status is official at Odin Mode, on the hand Menu --> Settings --> Device Information --> Status indicates 'Custom' and doesn't allow me to update the device with the same 'at least 800 mb free for the update to work'.
I am really annoyed and tired about the subject, hope to find somebody to help us :)

I have same issue. Also because of dr fone. Has anyone found the solution? If there is a fix to the 800 mb error, the update/restore should fix the rest.

Has anyone found the solution? If there is a fix to the 800mb error?
