Wanted to download to my PC some pictures that I took today on my Note4. The Note 4 appears on the list under "This PC" in Windows Explorer but, when I click on it, all I get is a note, saying:

"This folder is empty"

Tried to reboot both the phone and multiple computers and having the same folder empty result. The phone itself is displaying all the files and pictures as before, only the PCs can not see them.

Any idea how to get the content visible on my PC?

Thanks for any suggestions.

  1. Connect phone to PC
  2. Power on phone, enter PIN / pattern if necessary
  3. Drag down notification bar from top of screen
  4. Tap "USB for charging" (something like that)
  5. Tap "File transfer"

Repeat each time you connect to PC

Thanks for the reply but, I do not have anything close to the "USB for charging" option in the notification bar.

I do find a similar option under the File Manager - File Transfer - Transfer to PC. When I click on it, it gives me a "START" prompt and when I click it, it gives me an ftp:\\..... address and tells me to input it into the Windows Explorer on my PC.

When I do put that address into the Explorer I get a "Can't reach that page" message.

Well, then, it should be just as I said above.

One thing, if you have a bunch of notifications you may have to scroll the list to see the "USB Charging" one. When I do it it is always at the top because I don't allow other notifications (new text, new email, etc., etc.) to pile up.
