Can rooting be accidental?

A

AC Question

Galaxy s6 refused to boot up or turn off but refused fix under warranty as they say it is rooted. I never lend my phone and did not know what rooting meant until I looked it up so how can it happen outside my control?

Probably something tripped the knox counter... normally root, but have heard cases where Helium backup has done it too. Did you buy the phone brand new from a store or carrier... or was it a used phone? In any case, if Samsung is refusing warranty, then your next stop is a repair shop.
