Can someone explain to me why (Screenshots)

Can someone explain to me why WeatherBug can take screenshots of itself (on a non rooted device) with no problems but there are no apps out there that can take screenshots of any screen without the device being rooted?

Some applications or launchers have the ability to take screen shots of just that screen, no other one. Not quite sure why it is like that, but without root you can only take shots of the screens that allow it.

Then by definition, it's not the world's most secure cell phone.

I think it's stupid too, but OTOH who would be happy with an app that can grab a screen shot anytime you open a certain URL, or your email app, and upload it to a server in Moscow or Shenzhen? Allowing an application to take a picture of the screen at will is very insecure.

I agree. Its insecure but when r u going to need it in practical use ie urgent where ur not near ur computer to do it.

It's a feature I used constantly on my WM devices, and my rooted Android phones. I don't want to plug my phone into a computer and go through a bunch of commands to get a simple screenshot, when a program could do it at the push of a button.

I was having the same problem till i realized I needed to hold the button down half way to focus. Hope this helps

Haha, not taking pictures mate, taking a screen shot. Kind of like grabbing a direct image of your desktop.
