Hey guys...got my new GS3 today and though Im lovin it, Im trying to figure out some stuff. So whats with the WiFi not having a toggle in the bar at the top of the dropdown notification menu? Seems like you cannot turn on and off unless you go to the settings menu deep within the app? Is this some new type of sleep or something that connects to WiFi when its near it? Will it suck alot of battery to leave it on when I leave the house and not connect all day?

I think they (verizon) did that so people would leave it on more and use wifi over their network, I would guess it is more for people who have shared or limited data plans, they know their new plans suck so they are trying to help them manage data

When you pull down the status bar, is there not a WiFi option in the ongoing list? Mine always has that option. It says WiFi off tap to turn on.

Mine went away after I battery pulled switching batteries. I had Go power loaded and that was on there and I click on its settings to take it away from notification bar and now nothing is there anymore.it was annoying when it was there but by no means a deal breaker. THIS PHONE is way to awesome for something that silly to be all that upset with. This is the closest I've come to loving everything about a phone w/o doing much to it.

Tap to turn on. Tap opens setting then tap to turn off.

So there is one extra tap. No biggie for me.

wait - so you are saying that inside of go power there is an option to take away that ongoing wifi notification?

i installed go power but didn't see anything like that in the options.

Yeah still dont know whats it doing. Like I said mine doesnt have the ability in the drop-down menu and shows the WiFi status as a constant notification. Left it on today and didnt seem like it drained it a ton, I like how it auto-connects when I get home.
