The TBolt is not a "Global" phone (by VZW's definition). The SIM card in the TBolt does not support GSM, only LTE. Word is that eventually there will be LTE overseas, but not any time soon. So, no.
Although, I have used VZW "non-Global" phones many times while out of the country, becuase many countries support CDMA.

There's a lot more than "hope". Go [HERE] for a list, and roaming rates, of literally hundreds of places you can use your "non-Global" VZW phone, internationally.Frank, so as long as the phone carrier supports CDMA there is hope?

I was told that once more carriers adopted LTE it would be a global device, however I'm not 100% sure on that. Reps are generally wrong.
On top of everything said, even if a country did have a carrier that ran LTE on 700 mhz, the tbolt still uses CDMA for voice. So you would still need CDMA roaming for voice.
Has anyone figured a way out to use it overseas with a diff sim card? Can it be unlocked by rooting it? Or should i not even bother taking it overseas? Can it be programmed to work with a different CDMA phone service?
It will work on wi-fi, won't it? (Not as a phone, except with VoIP, but as a data only device?)

Data charges for International connections are pretty attrocious. What I am more worried is the DATA charges....
I kept my BB Storm 2 for just this reason. When I go abroad, I will just activate the phone for the trip.
