Hello!

Last year I was getting a number of malware overlays showing up on YouTube.

Being a bit irritated I eventually did a factory reset in July and all was good until the beginning of March this year when the same started again. This time I was just going to leave it until a really strange 'notification' very briefly appeared along the bottom of the screen:

"A software update has been downloaded. Restart now"

It was gone in less than 2 seconds but I remember it being a strange colour and 'Restart Now' was in red.

This time I panicked a bit as obviously I would have to restart my phone at some point. I deleted all device backups on my Google accounts through the Drive website and factory reset again.

Today, 10 days later, an orange coloured notification popped-up roughly two thirds of the way down the screen, which was weird, just as I was exiting a browser tab.

There was nothing listed in NotiStar but in the phone's 'Notification history' I found what's in the attached screen shot. There's nothing untoward that I can see in GlassWire data usage or the device data usage and likewise in AccuBattery or Device Care for battery use.

Is there anything more I can do or is this one of those nasties embedded in the OS which can't be removed?70.png
