can u get HDMI output from s3?

well how can this be done wirelessly? I see on the TV commercial a guy got his phone showing up on his TV but there isn't any cord.

Sounds like DLNA

newer models of samsung TV with inbuilt wifi will work on your home network...no cables required

im guessing its a lead that goes from micro-usb to hdmi m8 but aparently you have to use samsungs one so itl probably be expensive :(

What's HDMI m8? I want to be able to watch the videos on my phone over my tv. Which one should i get? I asked the verizon guy in a chat and first he said only the mhl adapter, then I told him the website says the microusb-hdmi is compatible and he said oh, well its jsut price otherwise there's no difference. Obviously another case of not knowing your products.

hdmi is the input on most newish tv's that gives HD signal m8. have a look on ur tv. hmm dont know man, i read that u need samsungs own cable but that could just be a money making thing :)

lmao sorry :-) "m8" is text-speak for "mate" m8 :) its a habit. in scotland we say mate a lot.. even if its someone youre about to punch... "you lookin at ma Mrs mate?" lol

Holy brain fart batman - how did i not pick that up - i've even used it myself! Anyhoo I guess we are all still stuck with the original question of what the difference is betwean the 2 cables if they can both be used on the s3 (according to verizon anyway

lol im hoping for someone who knows to give us the answer.. dont know if its coz this is quite a new phone but all of us in the forum seem quite newbeeish :-) usualy in forums like this, theres a few geniuses to educate us all lol. im really new to androidcentral forums but been listening to the podcasts for about a year :-) anyone know when next podcast is btw??

Found this link in another forum - i think it explains it pretty well (hes talking about the 5 pin one & s3 needs 11). Pretty much I think that the new 11 pin is necessary for this phone - the other one verizon is selling is not actually compatible with the S3....methinks...

It also supports Wireless Display (subset of Wireless Direct).
Some TVs support this, others need a $50 you can buy from amazon...

This MHL to HDMI adapter is specific to the S3, and any previous ones won't work. I got it direct from Verizon online and they sent it out 2 day mail. It only worked in one of my three HDMI inputs, which is weird since my Samsung Charge worked in all of them.

Everything looked great, except Netflix resized the picture to the old size tv style, which I am not happy about, as the Charge doesn't do that. Not sure who to tell about that.

Would love to do wireless - will have to look into the options. Not ready to buy a new tv - I JUST bought a new phone and $30 adapter!!!!
