can watching a video clip on facebook cause a virus to be downloaded on my samsung 4 phone

I was watching a video clip On Facebook when suddenly my phone started to vibrate and the screen changed and said that my phone has been infected with a virus. It said I had to go to Google Play and install a virus remover immediately or my phone would be locked up and my SIM card would be damaged and my contacts, photos, data and applications will be corrupted. The following appeared on the screen also. Www.appdayday.xyz undefined.

Facebook clips can't give you a virus, unless you clicked an advertisement. Just install an antivirus program such as Avast, and it will remove the virus if you have one.
