Can you charge a Gear S3 with a Gear S2 charger or anyother charger.

I ordered an official spare Gear S3 charger from Samsung. But they are very slow to ship. Is it possible to charge the Gear S3 with a Gear S2 charger witch is much easier and cheaper to get?
I tried using the charger from the original Moto 360 but nothing happens. I tried using the Fast wireless charger from Samsung for the S6 but it just blinks. I have a Pantheon fast wireless charger as well; it worked for about 5 minutes but then the watch said that it was too warm and turned off. I would hate too only have one charger for this watch, as I always had two for the Gear S one in pocket and one at home.

Well you can but I've noticed that it doesn't work as well as the original charger. Also it sometimes stops and says to use the original charger.

Thanks for your input. Nobody seems to be selling the Gear S3 charging dock, BHphotovideo has it for preorder, Tigerdirect and Adorama both have it on back-order.
Guess I better not lose or break the one I have. :-[

I also had multiple chargers for my gear s. I had the s2 for a few months with only 1 charger then got the s3. When I got the s3 I used the s2 charger to charge my watch & put the s3 charger in my suitcase for vacation. Well the s3 started getting extremely hot & went into some type of protective mode. So I removed it and have only used the s3 charger. I have not seen anyone post that they have any problems using the s2 charger so it could have just been a one time thing or it just happens with my watch. If you try the s2 charger I would just keep checking it to make sure it charges your s3 ok. Meanwhile, I had to order an extra s3 charger from Samsung & wait until it ship.

I have an S2 charger on my desk at work. It charges the watch, but tells me to use the original charger. It seems to keep charging the watch even when it is telling me to use the original charger.

I have not left my watch on it for a long period of time, but after reading pinkivy98's post I did notice that the watch was warmer than expected when I took it off of the S2 charger today. I will probably avoid using it unless the battery is running really low in the future.

There are a number of charging cradles for the S3 listed on Amazon. Qi and Rerii are listed. But it seems most won't be available until after Christmas. Actually, they're showing "in stock," but delivery will be after Christmas. I think I'll order a Qi ($7.99 w/free shipping) and see if it works OK.

Best Buy has it in stock on their website for shipping. Not in stores yet. Ordered one last night.

Awesome. I was gonna buy a second myself but i never really need it. Seen it waiting for the blue watchband to be in stock which is taking forever lol. They have others on Amazon. They are similar but not the same.

Yea, I've noticed this too with my new S3. Even if I use the included dock, but a different plug it will charge slowly and occasionally give me that message you spoke of. Kinda annoying the charging is that finicky.
