Can you transfer files from SD card onto Samsung tab S3 via usb?

I wanted to ask before I bought a S3. I have a DSLR camera and when I travel want to be able to transfer files from the SD card onto a tablet by USB. Is this possible using a USB adapter? Just so I have a backup of files and then be able to display.

Welcome to Android Central. Assuming you know you can connect the tablet as a media device via USB, and you're talking about photos, then yes.
