Can you use a laptop to use the Android TV box

Recently we purchased an Android TV box to replace our cable television and it has worked great when connected via HDMI to our TV. WIFI connection for the internet stream. But we are trying to connect the same A-Box to our Laptop, also using HDMI and it won't work. Actually the laptop doesn't give any indication that anything is trying to connect. Any advice?

I have the exact same question. I just want to watch my android TV box on my laptop. I have it hooked up via HDMI cable. But I can't figure out what program to use to watch it. My computer isn't recognizing that there is anything hooked to it. If it matters I am running Windows 10.
