Can you use Lg g5 (H830) oreo download to update on Lg g5 (RS988)?

In other words, I downloaded the oreo update for the Lg G5 H830 and I want to use that update on the Lg G5 RS988 since they are both G5's. Would that work?

I wouldn't. Each device configuration needs its own version of Android to support the specific hardware in that model.
