Can you wipe memory from a Galaxy S5 that doesn't charge?

Hello, my Galaxy S5 just died on me. One of the metal prongs inside the charging port broke so it doesn't charge anymore and there's no way I see I can fix that so I have no use for this phone anymore.

I want to get rid of it and sell the phone on Ebay for parts so that I can use the money to go towards the purchase of my next phone but I'm not sure if the memory is completely gone. I'm afraid someone will receive the phone, fix or replace the charging port and be able to see all the info that was on my phone. I never had the chance to do a factory reset because this happened suddenly and it doesn't turn on at all. Can someone help me out here? I can't find any info on this when I google. Thanks in advance!!

Yes, your information would still be on the phone. I believe the S5 has wireless charging, have you looked at that option to keep using the phone?

I think your best bet is to find someone with a spare battery and put that in your phone just long enough to do a factory reset.
