Cancel Nexus 7 Order from Google Play

There has clearly been an issue with some of the units, what percentage we may never know.

People with issues will speak up but those with none in most cases won't, so we tend to see a bleaker picture.

For the record mine is fine, when I bought it I sat in the car for 20 mins checking every detail because I was so paranoid it was going to be defective.

Sent them multiple messages over about 8 days to cancel my order.
Then received an email saying my order had shipped.
Then received another email telling me they can't cancel my order and just refuse delivery.
Which I did.
UPS came and went with the Nexus 7 this morning. I just left a note on the door.

Will pick it up, for about $40 *less*, online somewhere else, or when it's available in store again. That way if there is an issue, I can just walk back in the store and give it back.

Utter stupidity on google's part in their handling of the pre-orders.

In Store exchanges are overrated. I bought a defective one from sams club and they have no time frame for replacement and no way to hold it for me.
Wish I had stuck with my Google play pre order.

its funny. I used that form linked above to try and cancel my order before I picked one up locally here... and literally 10 minutes later I got an email saying it had been shipped. And minutes after that, an email from them saying they couldnt cancel it because it had been shipped.

coincidence, maybe.

Hey, I ordered a Galaxy S4 google play edition. I waiting for 2 days and I received a email from google "Change address". And question: Can I cancel my order? Will i have a charge? How much is it?
