Canceling the call icon?

Canceling the" call" icon

You know when you are in a conversation with someone and you want to do something else so you get the call to the background and you play..or look in your Facebook or something like that..the icon of the call "you are being in a conversation" is still on the screen! How can I cancel it??
Please help me to get reed of this annoying thing.

I've seen people ask this before, but I've yet to see any solution presented. At least not something the average user could do. There may be a way by rooting and making some changes, but that can be tricky even if someone has found a way.

Some manufacturers do it that way, some give you options (like "return to current call" when you tap the phone icon). Maybe using a different launcher will change the action. I've been using Nova Launcher for so long that I forget how other ones work.

I've been using Next 3D and it still shows. It also shows over any other app you're using, so I doubt any third party launcher will work.

Mine will ask me if I want to hide it if I hold my finger on it.

I just tried long pressing it and doesn't do anything on mine. I know there's some functional difference between carrier and non-carrier versions, so that's possible what's going on. I'm using a Verizon version.
