Hello, I'm Kera and I'm new here!
I have the Thunderbolt (Came out in April 2011) and this September I'm going to have to cancel my contract. My question is, am I still going to be able to use things, like the calculator, calendar, games, etc.? My guess is that ending the service will just cancel my signal. What if I have WiFi? Can I still message/call/use apps that require internet? Or will my phone somehow be wiped? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to AC! Canceling your mobile service should not do anything to the current apps on your phone. As long as you have wifi, you can still access the web, and you should still be able to use messaging services and voice calling that use the internet rather than a phone signal.

That's awesome!! Thank you. :) Will I still be able to download/uninstall apps from the Play Store with WiFi, or will I need to have phone service for it?

Oh and, do the regular messaging/calling apps that come with the phone use an internet signal, or do you need to download something new?

Yes, you can download and uninstall Google Play and Amazon Appstore apps with wifi.

The stock messaging app requires a phone signal. You would need to install a 3rd party app for messaging over wifi, as well as voice calls over internet. I'm not familiar with many, so best to ask others ...
