This happen only today, not sure what happened or what has changed ... I mean has been using for months and OK.
I click on the "Enable" but it bring me to another screen <Accounts, + Add account ... (??) no Play Store to check ...
I go to Settings; Data Usage; Restrict background data is unchecked; Auto sync data is checked. What else can I do?
I go to Settings; Data Usage; scroll to Google Play Store; Restrict background data is also unchecked.
So, what has happened?
PLEASE HELP, THANKS.

It sounds as though you do not have an active (logged in) Google account; I don't think Play store will work without one.

Go to Settings -> Accounts -> Google. Is there an account listed? If not, you may need to re-add your Google/Gmail account.

I've been perplexed by this for days. Finally I accessed the app in my application manager and checked the box to uninstall latest updates. Viola! :D I am able to use it again. Hope this helps.
It might have been a recent update so maybe this will fix it.

I have had this problem twice, now. The 1st time the Sprint Store fixed it but wouldn't tell me what they did. Now I have to go back again and can't use Google Play Store apps all night. Please tell me how to fix this. These solutions don't work for me.
