Cannot Access Latest Photos in My Gallery from My PC

Hello,

This just happened today. I was able to transfer and copy/paste photos from my HTC A9 to my PC or vice versa yesterday. But today, when I opened my phone in my PC (connected via USB), i can access the DCIM folder. But the photos I can see are old ones, none of the new ones showed up. When I tried to copy and paste a photo from my PC to the DCIM folder, I got the error message "Cannot copy IMAG.... The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected. Options are Stop copying or Skip this file". But my phone is connected since I can access the DCIM file. Only that I was not able to see the new photos. The last one I saw in DCIM is March 24, nothing after that. However, all the new photos after that are in the Gallery in my HTC One A9. I can see all those in my phone.

Does anyone know what could the problem be?

The album name in Gallery is the last folder name in the chain that the picture is in. (IOW, if the picture is in /DCIM/Camera/Vacations/May 2014, the album name is May 2014.) A lot of pictures that can be found by media scanner (which is where Gallery gets the names of pictures to display) can be in folders normally hidden from Windows, so Gallery sees them but Windows doesn't (for many different reasons). It sounds as if that's what you're experiencing - a folder with a .nomedia file in it, for existence (which tells media scanner to ignore the folder and anything - including sub-folders - in it.)

Use a file manager in the phone to explore the file system and see what's where - and the presence of any .nomedia files.

Thank you for your response. The problem is, I was able to see ALL photos yesterday, but today, no. I haven't changed anything in my phone or my PC. I have ASTRO file manager installed and it didn't find any .nomedia file in my phone.

Latest update:

If I add new photos in my gallery with my HTC One A9, I was able to see them in my PC (USB connect) and transfer them into my PC. But those photos between March 24-April 14, I couldn't see them in my PC, even though I can see them in my gallery of the phone.

Any comments/suggestions please?
