Cannot add ringtones or notification sounds

I can add a ringtone and notification folder with my own sounds to the 2013 N7, but no app with notifications sounds will recognize the folder/files. This has always worked on every Android device I have owned and still works on my 2012 N7 and N4. I added the files/folders and rebooted the device, but still nothing.

Has anyone have been able to get this to work on the new N7?

Yes, just like I always have on other devices.

I am all set now. I deleted all of the original folders and rebooted. Created new folders and copies files. Rebooted again then the files were visible.

Had the same problem, deleted all the Notifications and Ringtones folders (had 2 or 3 in different locations for some reason...) and it worked, Thanks!
