Cannot Clear Cache or Data

I keep getting notification that my storage is running out. I have gone through all my apps and cleared the caches and apps that I don't use, I deleted data or deleted the app altogether. My problem is, as soon as I clear cache it goes right back on at the same amount. Ex: Bixby that I never use, I clear data of 20kb of data and as soon as I go back to the app list 20kb is in the data. I cannot Uninstaller or disable Bixby. How am I supposed to clear data and cache if it won't stay cleared? I have to delete all my texts just to get one text. I have even deleted apps that I actually use but still getting memory issues that 94% of internal storage is being used.

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Android Apps forum to the General Help forum since the former is intended for developers to promote their apps.

Apps will often create cached data fairly quickly -- it's how they work.

Let's start by seeing a screenshot of your Settings>Storage menu: http://forums.androidcentral.com/ge...ide-how-post-screenshots-android-central.html

One quick question -- do you use Kik Messenger? If so, a forum member recently figured out that it can develop a gigantic amount of app data.

Have you looked at which apps are taking the most space? Sometimes an app misreports it's actual space taken.

As mentioned before, apps will usually create cache pretty quickly -- it's how Android apps work in general. Is this impacting you in any way? Are you running out of storage?

The bigger issue is that you just don't have enough storage for the apps you want to keep installed on the phone. Apps need to be able to use storage for cached data, and if you're at the point where it's 98% full even after clearing all app caches, then you either have to uninstall some of your bigger apps, or upgrade to a phone with more internal storage.

The app caches don't actually clear. That's the whole issue. The number keeps rising, cannot be cleared out.

Can you tell us the exact steps you take to try to clear the app caches?

My files-> analyze storage->app cache-> select items-> all, they all disappear. I press done, it goes back to the previous breakdown and all the cache is back at the same number

What if you clear an individual app's cache in the Settings>Apps menu?

Those may be the minimum cache for those apps. I just cleared cache for my Google app, and it went from about 500 MB to 280 MB (not zero).
