Hello. I recently moved into my friend's place and have tried connecting to our netgear wifi, however when searching through the available wifi list it says this network is "not in range." I am standing right next to the router so I do not understand why this is happening but I desperately need to get this solution resolved asap. Does anyone have any input on how I can connect to this wifi? I've tried the obvious method of unplugging it and rebooting, but that didn't do anything. I can connect on my laptop just fine, however my S5 will not even recognize it as a viable option.

Side note: There is a picture on the router that has a lock on top of a signal, however I cannot seem to turn this off. I do not know if this is the culprit. When I try to turn it off (by clicking it or holding down the button) it merely starts blinking, however I cannot get the light pertaining to this button to turn off entirely.

So you can see it on your phone? If yes, then Ling press and "forgrt" the network and add it again

1) Verify the Netgear firmware is up to date
2) Try switching Wireless Channels
3) Ensure that "Mixed" mode is enabled (or try toggling Single mode)
4) Remove/Re-add the network to your S5
5) Ensure the security is WPA or WPA2
