Cliff Notes: I bought a Note 8 yesterday, did the initial config and everything was fine. Woke up in the morning to find my Wi-Fi was disabled. I uninstalled apps (nova launcher, pixel button APK, games etc.) Reset Network Settings, Cleared system cached and performed a factory reset. I still cannot enable Wi-Fi, please help!

Long Version:
So I purchased a Note 8 yesterday (GO ME!), take the phone home setup my home screen and downloaded a few apps (NovaLauncher, Pixel Nav and Portal Quest) Anyway, go through the entire day with no problems. I wake up in the morning and notice my Wi-Fi is disable and immediately try and re-enable, but to no avail. To clarify it's not that I cannot connect, I mean the toggle for the Wi-Fi is disabled (greyed out).

So I immediately think it's something I've done, I start by rebooting the device..NO JOY. I tried resetting my network settings, running the phone is safe mode (which make me believe it's a hardware issue), uninstalling apps, cleared system cache, and even performed a factory reset.. still no joy.

I'm pretty sure I'm looking at a hardware issue and plan to go back to the store this evening, but just in case, does anyone have any other ideas? Has anyone reported issues like this with their Wi-Fi toggle. I'm honestly considering holding out for the Pixel as this is my second samsung device and it's not really making a lasting impression on me.

I returned my Note 8 last night and opted out of a replacement. The rep agreed it was a hardware failure and was shocked as he hasn't had any Note 8's returned yet. As I said before, I've owned two samsung devices (S6, S8 Note) both of which had hardware problems. Now granted I think the Note 8 was a one off scenario, but something just doesn't sit right with me when you pay $950 for a device and the next day there is already a major issue with it. Trust me I understand this could happen with any device and it's just a coincident, but at the end of the day it's my prior experience with both phones that's influencing my decision.

The first time someone calls you a horse you punch him on the nose, the second time someone calls you a horse you call him a jerk but the third time someone calls you a horse, well then perhaps it's time to go shopping for a saddle

I will say that I really really liked the Note 8, I am an extremely heavy user as I use my phone for work pretty heavily and consume tons of media in my downtime. It was great for Jira and Slack, two apps that I live in daily and the S pen made both a better experience. Who knows maybe I'll revisit this phone but for now I'm going to look at other options.
