So I'm trying to install a rom on my Asus Transformer. I have it rooted, with the super user icon and rom mager all there and ready to go. I have installed tons of Roms on my droidx via bootstrap for the droidx, and have not had to use Rom Manager yet.

I did some searching and found how to get the transformer into recovery by holding the power and -vol rocker, then pressing the +vol rocker when prompted. However, when I do this, I just get stuck on the Android guy with the exclamation mark.

What am I doing wrong?

Transformer TF101
Android 3.2.1
Kernel 2.6.36.3

Thanks in advance

The simplest way is to install clockworkmod recovery. Go over to the xda forums and read through some of the information. Clockworkmod will also give younthe ability to do a back up as well.

Forgot to mention...you can't do it the same from ROM manager as you do from your phone. Do read the instructions with anybrom you decide to install

Are you referring to Acer Recovery Installer? Trying to find the exact one you're using and couldn't find one labeled just Recovery Installer. Thanks

I can't seem to find it on the market anymore but I can offer the .apk I used. It will place CWM 3.2.0.1 on a TF-101 as long as u are rooted.

DON'T USE THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND KNOW THAT THE FATE OF YOUR DEVICE IS IN YOUR HANDS. USE OF THIS OR ANY OTHER SYSTEM MODIFYING ELEMENT CAN AND WILL VOID WARRANTY. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

With that said I have used it 6 times without issue and yes it should reboot after u apply it.

Here is a link to the XDA thread of the CWM this APK installs: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1213723

Thank you, Sir. Much appreciated! Now if I could just figure out how to get root back.. Should've checked xda before updating to the latest ota.

I had the same problem as the original poster. It drove me nuts for days. I did a search but could not find a ready answer until I saw this post. Downloaded the CWM APK from your link and it worked perfectly. Thanks so much for posting this.
