Cannot hear callers on my s5 except via speaker phone

[Android Central Question]

When I make a call, or someone calls, I have to put them on speaker phone to hear them. They can hear me fine. Their voice is very faint without speaker phone. I have the volume set to max. I can also use headphones to hear them. Just the regular volume no longer works on my phone for hearing callers? otherwise it works fine. Tried to clean ear piece and mike with
Compressed air, tried it in safety mode, tried other things recommended. Nothing allows the volume of caller to improve to the way it was.

Welcome to Android Central! Your earpiece speaker is probably damaged. You'd have to bring it to a repair shop to fix it.
