Cannot make or receive any calls - please help

Hi,

I've had my Optimus V for about a year or so. Since yesterday, I cannot receive or make any calls on the phone. 3G works fine; I can access the internet. But when dialing a number, the screen just says "Dialing", and nothing happens - no dial tone, nothing. After a while it says "Call dropped". I have 5 bars of signal strength.

Tried the "Activation" link in the settings, only gives an error message saying to call VM. I called VM, they tried to activate the phone on their end, no change.

What can I do to troubleshoot / fix this?

In settings/about phone does it show your phone number our something like this 000-000-0087

FWIW, I called VM again and had them re-start the plan. That worked. Very strange...
