Hello

I recently purchased an A50S. It has the Briefing (Flipboard) app pre-installed.
It is listed in the long laundry list of apps. Its options are Disable and Force Stop. No option to uninstall.

But there is no icon for it when I "pull down" the list of apps from the home screen
When I look in the Play Store, the option is to update the app but it never completes the update (waiting for update keeps spinning)

Does anyone have any idea how I can activate/turn on this app which is an app I do frequently use?

My previous Samsung had the Briefing app to the left of the Home Screen.
This phone has the Bixby app to the left of the Home Screen which I have disabled.

Thanks for any ideas
Andrew

If I remember correctly Briefing was rolled into Bixby Home. If you have Bixby disabled, then Briefing may not be able to completely update. Try enabling Bixby, then update Briefing to see if that works. You can always download the Flipboard standalone app.

Thank you. You are indeed correct. Briefing is within Bixby.
I will take a look through Bixby and decide if it is worth using.
If not, I will look into adding the separate Flipboard app.

Thanks
Andrew

I simply installed my Flipboard app when I got a Samsung phone last month. I had used Flipboard for years on other Android phones, but this is my first Samsung phone. Therefore, it was easier for me to simply install the Flipboard app with the account settings I used previously. I went ahead and disabled the Samsung Briefings app.

Thanks, I probably will end up doing the same.
But, I need to look at this "Bixby" thing and see if it is of any value to me.

I find Bixby Home to be pretty pointless honestly. It doesn't update properly, and is filled with ads. If I need Bixby for anything I use the Bixby app or Bixby Voice. I don't use Flipboard as much as I used to, but when I do I use the app.
