Cannot root device

Hey guys,

I've tried a few different methods including regaw. Everything i try seems to not even make it to the unlock bootloader stage. I had no problems with my og evo but I cannot root this phone for the life of me. Any help? I think one issue is that most of the guides are outdated now. Thanks for any help you can give.

Have you tried the HTC method at www.htcdev.com?

Do you have the drivers installed? plus you need .NET 4.0 and the usb debugging checked on your phone for regawMOd to work

I have done all that. I have not tried straight to htcdev however

Ok so i tried the htcdev method but it did not work. I get to the part where it asks me to download and install the platform tools but it says done, did not install. I tried it a few times to no avail. I cannot figure out for the life of me why this is being such a pain for me.

So you downloaded SDK and opened the sdk manager and tried to install platform-tools and it wont? hmmm... thats odd

Hmm, that IS quite odd. I've never had any issues installing the necessary files.

Ok, dumb question but I have to ask. You are downloading those to your computer correct?

Here is a link to the TOOLS Folder you need. Just extract the android folder to your desktop . ADB and Fastboot are included

Thank you benny! after d/l those files and much playing around and mixing and matching of methods it finally worked! now my only issue is that it seems to not think the SD card is there.

Go into the settings and make sure the sdcard is mounted
