Cannot see custom folders in email app

Am I missing something here, or is it that the default email app on the EVO does not allow accessing custom folders? For example, in my Yahoo email account, I have created my own folders such as "Orders", "School", "Misc", etc. In the email app on the EVO, I don't see those folders anywhere. It has a "Folders" option, but when I click on that, the only folders available for selection are the other built-in folders in Yahoo (TRash, Sent, Drafts, Outbox), but not my custom folders. This is a big limitation of the email app IMHO.

I'm sure I can download a fancy email app on the market can do this, but I dont really need all the bells and whistles for an email app. If the native email app can do this, that'll be great. Just havent figured out how yet, or if it's even possible...

I have to use IMAP mode to see additional folders in GMail. As for Yahoo, even in IMAP mode Yahoo doesn't show any other folders. It is either a Yahoo thing or an HTC Mail app thing. But, since HTC Mail shows GMail's folders to me in IMAP mode, I'm leaning towards it being a Yahoo thing since I've tried three different Yahoo mail IMAP servers (android.imap, imap-ssl, and imap), but none of them show all of my Yahoo folders. GMail has settings in GMail setup for which folders are visible to IMAP clients, but I couldn't find anything similar in Yahoo Mail. Although, Yahoo's new Mail app does show all of my other folders, but the Yahoo Mail app only allows one Yahoo mail account.

UPDATE:
AND BTW, there are 'adds' in the Yahoo Mail app's INBOX!!! DOUBLE YUK!

I have to disagree with you about that -- about it being a Yahoo thing. Because with my Palm Pre, I could see all folders for all of my email accounts.
In my EVO now, I have the same email accounts but cant see all of the folders.
So it must be an HTC thing...

Well I have the Evo 4g running the gingerbread. I'm using the default mail app with yahoo. It lets me view all of my folders that I made but when I open the folders there its nothing inside.
