Cannot see the keys to type pin

When I restart my Galaxy S4 the keypad has white digits on an almost-white background. That makes it very hard to see the keys.

Is there a way to change either the background picture or the color of the digits?

Welcome to Android Central! This is an odd glitch that seems particular to Samsung devices. Does it persist after a reboot? Pull the battery for 10 seconds, and then reinsert it and press Power. If it does persist, try wiping the cache partition: http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-5744
