Cannot sync some accounts

So I've had my Moto X for a day - so far I love it - it's as if Google/Motorola asked me how to make a phone to fit my needs.

Anyway, I noticed on my Facebook and LinkedIn accounts there are no options to sync. If I go to my Google account I can see options to sync (contacts, calendar...). But there's no such option for Facebook or LinkedIn - and I have contacts in both that are not contacts in Gmail. I looked in the settings for both apps and I don't see an option to sync. Am I missing something or what?

The settings aren't in the app but under Settings->Accounts. There reside the settings to sync contacts and data.

Looked there - nothing for Facebook. It's simply an account sitting there with no options for sync.

Are you trying to sync the facebook data/updates or the facebook contacts with your phone contacts?

Facebook data/updates are done through the facebook app itself. I don't think the new versions of android allow syncing contacts with the official facebook app.

Discovered that Android 4.2.2 doesn't sync Facebook contacts - it's something to do with the FB app itself - doesn't follow Android's conventions.

I guess it's somehow fixed in 4.3 and 4.4 - guess I'll be waiting until 4.4 hits Moto X on Verizon.
