N7 device is recognized by the computer.
Dev options not enabled and checked mtp already.
Tried using device manager to update driver software from Android abd to MTP, but during installation a generic error message says the driver cannot be installed.
Device installs correct drivers on other computers but not my personal one. Any advice?

Uninstall all the drivers related to the N7 and then try again?
What version of Windows?

I had this problem. Plug in the Nexus 7 to the USB. Go to hardware manager and find the Nexus 7. Uninstall it. This gets rid of abd. Unplug it from the USB. Plug it back in. It will connect with MTP, and your file system will be accessible.

What if this doesn't work?
What does Device Manager show when the device is connected?
Does the Status Bar show any indication that the tablet thinks it's connected?
Which version of Windows?
