Cannot use "OK Google" from anywhere

Everytime I try to set this up from the menu, it tells me that I cannot use the microphone. Yes, I can use the microphone for voice typing as long as I click the button first. The settings menu tells me to restart my phone. I've restarted it many times. I've also clear the data cache. Nothing helps. I'm really getting tired of defective crap Motorola phones. Has anyone been able to get this to work?

Are you trying to set up moto voice or set up the Google now/search app? If it's the Google app, do you already have moto voice set up? If it is the search app and you already have moto voice set up, disable moto voice and try again. (Although honestly moto voice is better on battery and adds more functionality.)

If it is a problem setting up moto voice, you may have an app that is already always listening.
