I have a timkoo MP3 player “Q5” model and it runs android version 4.4.2-. Is that old, and, if it is, how to update it?

incredibly old, and you probably can't.

I wouldn't really worry about it on an MP3 player though.

It is old, yes. Look in Settings, About Phone, Software Updates. Don't be surprised if you find none pending.

The latest version is Android 13.
