Cant boot into Safe mode

Title says it all. I turn it off, turn it on again, when logo appears I hold volume down button but my phone boots in normal mode... Is there another way to boot into safe mode?

Solved it! The problem was I pressed the button too soon. Needed to wait untill the animation logo begins. If pressed sooner it wouldn't work
