Can't change alarm sound

I have chosen a new alarm sound and applied it, but the old alarm continues to be the one that sounds! I have rebooted, done a battery pull, and even tried to create new sound sets- but nothing helps. Any suggestions?

This has been driving me crazy for days and I just figured it out!! For those of you in the future with this same problem- go to where it lists all of your alarms, and from the menu DELETE the original alarm. Then you can set the sound you want on the next available alarm, or create a new one. Whew!

i tried this on my Samsung galaxy note 5 and it still didn't change... what can i try now?
