Can't change S7 phone from 3G to 4G.

I have a refurbished phone and can't change to 4G. How do I post up a screen shot of the problem please?

I'm an old fella with not much experience with phones. I've looked up settings-wi-fi but can't find Preferred Network Type. I guess I'm becoming a little annoying to you with my lack of knowledge, so sorry about that. I might have to send the phone back as I have now discovered another problem...the camera flash and the torch don't work. Is there a quick fix for that please?

Our phones switch to 3g, 4g, LTE based on what the cell tower we're connected to is broadcasting. Meaning as long as the phone supports it, the phone changes on its own. There isn't a way to force the phone to switch to a higher....speed, correct?

Not annoying at all -- that's what we're all here for!

Does this phone have a case on? If so, does the reception problem remain if you take the case off? Some poorly designed cases can interfere with signal (typically if the case has any metal in it).

Thanks BD. It's the same with the case on and off. I have just received a belated txt from Telstra saying they are upgrading the network in our area for 6 or 7 days and it could impact on services. Would have been nice to get it before I asked on here. Thanks. Any answers on the flash and torch please.

See if the flash works in Safe Mode: https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-28008j. If it does, then some app you installed is interfering -- you'd have to uninstall apps that have Camera permission (since the flash is part of the Camera module) until the problem goes away.
