Can't clear google cache

Anyone else having trouble, and/or know why I recently can't clear it? TIA

You're talking about the app cache for the Google app in Settings>Apps, right? I'm not seeing an issue on my Pixel 7 Pro. Did you try rebooting, and then trying again? Or force-stopping the Google app first, then trying to clear its cache?

Tried and did not clear.

I was afraid of what data I could lose!?

That shouldn't be a problem, because that data should just re-sync with your Google account once you reopen it and it resyncs to the cloud.

Sadly the cache issue has returned as I woke up this morning and it was greater then 300mb over night. Any additional suggestions would be appreciated. TIA
