Can't clear recently used emojis on gboard!

I have both a moto g power 2022 and a Nokia g300 5g , running android 11 on the Nokia, android 12 on the Motorola, I've noticed I can't clear/reset/remove the row of recently used emojis on either phone, I tried clearing the gboard cache and data on both phones, it's reset to 0 but the emojis are still there, anything I can do short of Uninstalling gboard and reinstalling it!? I don't have a Google account and don't want to register for one just to upload and install gboard from the play store. If I have to reset my phones, I suppose I wouldn't mind, though. Any idea why this is happening!? I'm up to date on system and app updates. Thanks in advance.
