Can't connect to wifi

I have a Samsung Galaxy Camera running Android 4.1.2. All of the sudden, the device has stopped connecting to wifi. No matter the network, public or private, I get a message saying "Authentication error occurred" when I try to connect. It seems to be a device problem as I have no problem connecting to the same networks with any other device I own. I've tried all sorts of combinations of turning wifi and the device on and off. No luck so far. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Yep, I have done that. It has worked once or twice with my network at home, but with no apparent pattern. So I can't figure it out.

I don't know if you can do this, but clearing the cache? Through recovery would be preferred, but you can in Settings>Storage>click on cache. Maybe that will help?

That won't clear the device will it? And side question as I'm thinking of it. I put in a micro sd card, but the storage still appears to be on the device harddrive. How can I change that?

Barring anything weird happening, no. I just did it this morning. Nothing was wiped.

Probably need root access, if it is possible.

Thanks. I will try and do that. After that, am I looking at a device problem that would need addressed through Samsung?
