Hey y'all, I recently switched from iphone 6+ to Samsung S 8, I've tried to connect it to my Toyota highlander 2017 and Avic-8100nex on my old car, and they both said incompatible USB. I've tried USB debugging but nothing change. I also tried 3 different usb c cable (Including the one comes with the phone) and one Micro usb with a usbc adapter but still the same.
Did anyone know what's going on? Do I have to wait for pioneer to get the unit update or what??? thx

Im on T-Mobile but I got the same issue with mines on a Kenwood aftermarket deck. Can't get it work using USB.

Couldn't get it to work with my S7 edge either.

I do keep my music on my SD card so I'm not sure if that's the issue (or at least my case)

I only used iphone for the last few years. The latest firmware version of 8100nex came out on feb 2, 2017, and S 8 came out a week ago, so you know... My toyota highlander 2017have the same problem too btw.

Android does not work via USB on car decks unless the stereo has Mirro link or Android auto. I don't remember it ever doing it like iPhone. Auxiliary jack or bluetooth. I use bluetooth in my vehicle.

It's true that the latest firmware came out before this phone, but if you haven't installed it yet, who knows -- maybe they patched something that will let you do what you're asking about.
